More and more, couples are wavering
from tradition, even when it comes to who pays
for the various wedding vendors and items other items. If, however,
you are looking for
some guidelines on who traditionally pays the bills, this list
may be just what you need. |
| |
Begin interviewing florists at
least three months prior to your wedding, longer if your wedding
will take place during a peak season or holiday...after
your ceremony and reception locations are booked, after
your gown and bridesmaids' dresses are chosen, and after
your guest list is created and nearing finalization as you will
need to know how many guest table will need arrangements. |
| |
Bring pictures of your dress and
bridesmaids' dresses, as well as swatches of fabric
from both. |
| |
Bring pictures of the flowers
and bouquet styles you like, as well as a list of the flowers
and foliage you would like to use. |
| |
Take note of any special needs
your wedding party members, family and other floral honorees may
have (ie: allergies, likes, dislikes, etc...) and discuss them
with your florist. |
| |
Contact your church or chapel
administration prior to interviewing florists and become aware
of any requirements they may have (ie: whether flowers can be
placed on alter, whether petals can be dropped, etc.) |
| |
Ask your florist about other available
coordinating items (ie: aisle runners, unity candles, flower girl
baskets, etc.) |
| |
Ask florist about the availability
of extra corsages and boutonierres. |
| |
Provide your florist with the
names and addresses of delivery locations (ie: where the grooms
party will meet, where the brides & bridesmaids will meet,
the ceremony location, the reception location, and any secondary
locations at which photos will be taken. |
| |
Ask about fees for delivery &
set-up as well as the availability and fees for additional transportation
needs (ie: transporting arrangements from the church to the reception
hall and/or secondary photo shoot locations). |
| |
Openly discuss your budget needs
as well as deposit and payment terms with your florist. |
| |
ALWAYS get a written estimate
and make sure that estimate includes the number and type of bouquets,
corsages, boutonierres, and display arrangements to be made as
well as the agreed-upon flowers to be used. |
| |
Guests are responsible only for
personal travel & lodging expenses and gift for the newlywed
couple. |
